Sustainability

At Visual Foods we acknowledge our responsibility to minimise our impact on the environment by driving forward a responsible and sustainable sourcing policy.

We recognise our obligation to ensure fish and shellfish stocks remain at a sustainable level and work in cooperation with our global supply partners in ensuring that the required environmental, ethical and sustainable stock management systems are in place.

Our principal guidance comes from the community of marine and fisheries scientists which allows us access to accurate and independent information on the status of the various fish stocks and aquaculture practices throughout the world.

In particular, we recognise the key role played by independent third party organisations in certifying aquaculture operations that demonstrate compliance with sustainable aquaculture practice, environmental integrity, animal welfare, social responsibility and food safety. It is our company policy that all supply partners source raw material from aquaculture operations certified by one of these recognised organisations. We also encourage marine fishery operations to be either MSC certified wherever possible or in areas where the UN/FAO Responsible Fisheries Initiative is practised.

We aim to stay at the forefront of all global developments within our industry and support all reasonable initiatives that improve standards relating to the sustainable sourcing of seafood products.
